We have been going to the Prairie for several years for our dog society committee meetings, and tonight was the best meal we have had there, the curly fries were done to perfection and the Gammon was so tasty. The only disappointment was that they have done away with the treacle pudding and custard, but forgiven.
Very very disappointed. Booked a table for my mum's 82nd birthday sat down and saw people enjoying the mixed grill only to be told that we couldn't have it due to the" gas blowing out" and was given a basic substitute menu. I then had the steak pie but wasn't happy as there were only 2 small pieces of steak in the whole pie and the chips must have been on ration too as I only got 9 chips. What made matters worse was the lack of empathy about the situation and just a matter of fact attitude.
A busy venue at lunchtime, the Prairie has plenty of parking and good pub food and beer at competitive prices. On this visit the pub was very busy and there was an omission in out food order which would have been hard to rectify in the time so only 3 stars but this does not represent the normal service I have received which is much better.
